She was born here in New York, but she was raised in Boulder , Colorado.
She was in some early episodes of Dallas and then went into the spin-off series,'Knots Landing'.
She attended the Yale School of Drama where she met Julie Harris..... destined to become a life long friend and co star in Knots Landing.

Knot's Landing was so popular it ran for 13 seasons.
It's Joan's defining TV role but she has also done much thearte work and is much respected and loved in the profession.
Her name in Dutch means "Joan of ARC", a name given to her because he was sure she would become famous, he was right.
Joan is one of the foxiest babes in Hollywood, so it's surprising how few pics i can find out there on the web, maybe some other folk on the forum will have better luck?

Brian, here. You know, this really ticked me off. I googled Joan for some pictures, and all I found were articles about her cosmetic surgery...lots of them. I gave up after 20 pages. It's true, her facelifts don't look so good, but my God, can't they talk about anything else? I mean, literally 95% of the images were of her facelift! I get it, already! If I were her, and I googled myself and saw all that mess, I'd want to hang myself! Damn, people are cruel! Really pisses me off. Ok, sorry, had to vent a little there. I just feel kinda bad for her. :(
