Visiting Chicago with a friend, Ruth stopped by the Playboy Model Agency to drop off her modeling portfolio. Recalling that magical visit in her Playmate Data Sheet she wrote : “I was sent to see Pompeo Posar and shortly after that we started testing”.
In January 1979, Ruth was featured in “The Great Playmate Hunt” pictorial, the search for PB’s 25th Anniversary Playmate.
Her Centerfold wouldn’t appear for three more years, but she kept busy working in TV commercials and modeling for her hometown brewery Anheuser-Busch.
With all her mainstream success, why do Playboy ?
“Foremost”, Ruth wrote, “I think the magazine is a class act, and from a model’s viewpoint, I couldn’t resist working with such experienced and famous photographers. It’s all very exciting !”
