Things Noticeable this week - Page 1989

It's official! The warmest Hallowe'en since 1968 & 1989. I looked up my diary for 1989 and amongst the entries for weather it just said "quite sunny today"-obviously had an effect on me NOT!

Pretty balmy weather for the end of October but it is set to go down to more usual temperatures next week.

This is still an amazing site at Tower of London, but it will be cleared very soon and all the poppies cleaned, boxed up and sent out to the people that bought them online.

I've been saying (on another thread here) how balmy it is at the moment, in fact Estreeter is waiting patiently to send over some sunshine & warmth. We don't need it YET

Got mine (well ordered it anyway) Not really sure if it will come from the display or the reserve (in case they break any taking them up) (they broke a few planting them)

Really sorry about the pilots, but would you want to go into space .. after this week...........YES I WOULD BRING IT ON ! (I'm not shouting but I have raised my voice) I would do this in a flash given the chance.

Was listening to something today about this and, from what I hear, if you have a spare $250,000 sitting around, give it to Branson and he'll put you in line. When will that be? Who knows. Might be a while if his spacecraft keep falling out of the sky.

I see Sir Richard Branson has announced that He "Will persevere" with His commercial spaceflights despite the death of one pilot,Easy to persevere when it's not Your life on the line.To quote the egregious tosspot: 'Space is hard - but worth it. We will persevere and move forward together.' What saddens Me is that one man has been killed and another seriously injured,Trying to do something frivolous and totally pointless.

Climbing the Everest is pointless.

It's sad that this happened, but it's not that unusual, in the developpement of regular aviation many test pilots died too (about one per week in the 1950ies, apparantly). Probably the same for any fast machine: cares / racecars / motorbikes... it's a dangerous job.

That girl heading through NYC for hours in a "Sexy American Eagle" jeans and then was complaining about sexual harassment. This I thought was funny.

What I don't think was funny: Taping people without them knowing and then upload it to youtube and call them sex offenders/molesters.

As I understand it, she asks for the respect that she is not willing to pay. Akward person.

At least she wasn't physically attacked. Statistically, victims of violence involving strangers and public places are males in the 16 to 30 demographic ( a point certain feminists acknowledge). As a man, I can vouch for that from personal experience. Furthermore, the London Guardian pointed out that in domestic violence cases, 40% of the victims are male.

I saw some of the clip on the news and some of the so called sexist comments were simply polite enquiries. Good morning and how are you featured quite a lot.

If you are single, in a bar say, perhaps a singles bar and you tell someone they look nice, and ask how they are doing, is that sexist, and harassment and if it is how the hell will anyone get together?

A girl in Brussels did a similar thing last year, and she got similar reactions, except more nasty (things like dirty whore, etc)
And (sorry if i sound racist but fact were facts), most of those came from Arabs/Morrocans.

I don't think the way someone looks is an excuse for such things, in fact i believe people should leave other people alone.
