Next up for DVD release in May is a double bill of the infamous Take An Easy Ride (1976), and the never broadcast TV Pilot “Go Girl”, from 1970, starring Luan Peters and Françoise Pascal.

Next to be getting the DVD treatment is the David Sullivan produced Emmanuelle in Soho:

Press release:
"On 7 June 2010 Odeon Entertainment issue the first ever British DVD release of Emmanuelle in Soho.

Set in London’s notorious red-light district, Emmanuelle in Soho exposes the salacious world of back-street striptease shows, pornographers and the infamous ‘casting couch’. Fame hungry Emmanuelle (Mandy Miller) does whatever it takes to make it big, even if that means signing up with London’s sleaziest porn agent (John M. East).

Produced by David ‘Come Play with Me’ Sullivan, Emmanuelle in Soho features tragic beauty Julie Lee in her only starring role, ably assisted by a bevy of gorgeous girls, including eye-popping cameos from sex queens Linzi Drew and Marie Harper. Originally released in July 1981, the movie became the very last blockbuster of the British sex comedy era, running solidly for 35 weeks in London alone.'

Special Features include: Hellcats - Mud Wrestling (1983)
The 6-minute American prologue to Emmanuelle in Soho
Additional footage shot by Ray Selfe for the hardcore version
Booklet Notes by Simon Sheridan"

I've previously posted the complete pilot episode of 'Go Girl' onto the Luan Peters thread under 'Classic Celebs'. I also have 'Take an Easy Ride' which I will post sometime if it's not already on VEF. Link:

Default Confessions

Way back in the 70s I was a 17 year old lad working for Harlequin Records. One day the boss said one of the shops was going to be used as a location for a nudie film. Naturally I got myself over to the shop on the day, my love truncheon headbutting the leg of my brushed denim Brutus jeans like an excited whippet...only to find that the external shots were being filmed at the shop and the delighfully saucy Sally Harrison would only be displaying her minge fringe back at the studio. Blimey what a let down..seeing Doris Hare was no compensation....

Personally I'd like to get hold of a copy of The Ups and Downs of a Handyman. One of the best and most overlooked though is What's Up Nurse.
I have a copy of the Sheridan book. It is very good and informative.
It is also a great insight into the history of these movies and also about the sad decline of British cinema that started in the 1970's.
Well worth a read.
