Yum! The way Rita twirks that long flowing white dress, the slits at the front, those perfectly sized teasing fans - they don't hide very much - and the way she tosses them aside when she's finished with them, all in the attentive spotlight... Oh, and what else is a round topped chair made for?

GM, you have put your finger on it - the electric bolt that surges through when a striptease that was unexpected comes along - sheer naked thrill!

Thats the problem with strip clubs and shows. There is one? Well, yes, the audience knows what to expect, thats what they go there for. But the thrill in a variety show where strip isnt explicitly on the menu is something again, especially when its vintage style - real strip tease, suddenly announced by the sleaziest, brassiest music you can image.

The Monster striptease that T put up is so very like the Benny Hill clown strip - funny - but the best bit was the Angels performing beforehand, pity they didnt go on to greater things.

GFM, you certainly are keeping em coming. I nearly missed your post in todays Carry On thread - post 54! What a find...brerathless classic strip music, missing the beat at all the right moments, A lady in shiny blue bra and skimpy panties, transparent wrap, long purple gloves, feather in her hair, and that truly amazing frothy concoction that can only be the bottom of a hooped dress...no wonder the lamp has a mind of its own. I do believe shes doing a striptease, says the suited moustache, and he's right! This lady knows how to peel fishnet stockings off bit by bit pause by pause in time to the music to make things really interesting.

Of course it becomes farce - it is Carry On - but wouldnt it good to think there was a version where she finishes her act? She dresses like a stripper should and she peels like a stripper should - so get em off, get your tits out and show us your bum! Total caricature, total what a stripper should look like and do, total why are there no clips of real classic acts like this?

Or are there? If there are lets be seeing em!

Before I saw GFMs clip I had been thinking about an old style bunny girl striptease - anyone interested?

Well ecdysiastic, since we're on the topic of stripteases, and your point about Rita Moreno is a good point, let's take a look at a few others who were celebrities, and wo did stripteases.. some of them leaving you with an imaginitive mind..

First up is of course the Lovely Kim Novak, (Blonde, sassy, and of course oh so sexy.. (And evwen in her latter days when she was in her early 30's or 40's Miss Novak epitomized the story of the tease with her little number in Pal Joey, starring Frank Sinatra and Rita hyworth.

At the near end of the movie, Kim decides to pull a little Marie Antoinette number where she strips down to the imagination of you watching her go all the way. I mean let's face it.. would this number have been hot if the censors let it have gone all the way? I think it would have been super hot.. (But you know those censors .. way back in 1956..

Then there's the 1958 Warner's Brother Movie, Damn yankess (Based on the Broadway Musical, and that starred Tab Hunter, Ray Walston, and teh oh so hot, Gwen Verdon.. In the "Whatever Lola Wants" number, Gwen gives us quite a tease.. but again, it makes you wonder.. how far would Gwen have gone?

Of course then there's the 1962 version of Gypsy staring Natalie Wood. You want sizzling Hot? Natalie gave us a seris of strips in a montage that blew your mind.. as a shy and Timid Rose, loses her clothes bit by bit...

(Of course this was later reprised by Cynthia Gibb in the TV adaptation, in 1993 version where Cynthia gives us a look at the more comedic Gypsy.. with her double entendres...)

Of course then there's Julie Andrews.. (Who back in 1966 did May Popins.. and even then Disney couldn't show Julie in her knickers.. but 45 years later, Julie did bare enough to keep us all guessing in "Darling Lili"

and if you though Julie Andrews was daring.. Try Bridgit Bardot and Jeanne Moreau as a pair of Marias in "Viva Maria...This Malle classic had everything including the tease.. as Bardot and Moreau start off in paris inventing the strip.. then they move to a central american country (I think it was Mexico but don't hold me to that), where they nearly go all the way.. That is.. until the audience starts to undress for them...

But before Viva Maria whee Bardot did a strip with Moreau, she did one in Madamoiselle Striptease..and this shows that Bardot was indeed a sex kitten as she teased us.

And speaking of comedy strips.. we'll jump over to Ann Margaret and her funny striptease in "The Swinger"

That ol' black magic indeed..

So yeah Rita Moreno wasn't teh only Celebrity who did the strip tease.. these others gave us the tease in a lot of ways...

(And yes, wouldn't it be fun to see these scenes actually going totally nude?)

Yup that fits the bill in all counts, but it would be nice to have a bit of information as to where you go it, where it was taken from(assuming a film here) and stuff like that but well done, an excellent post.

She's Susana Estrada in a scene from the 1980 Spanish film Pasion Prohibida. Her strip is one of the best I've seen in a film.
