I seem to remember the first lady going under the surname Greasley-Cohen, first part pronounced Grayley, and claiming that it had connections with gentility, possibly in the East Midlands.

It says in the blurb in the mag (which I always assumed was made-up) that she was a beauty queen. As you recall her by a similar name this may actually be true. It`s possible that anyone interested and curious enough (not me) may be able to get more info with a bit of Googling.

These girls transcend the years, each era had a particular look and one girl who stood out from the rest. I am going to decide on my five favorite girls and then my five favorite images of each and post them, I wonder how much overlap there will be with others choices. Perhaps we could eventually come down to the one image that encapsulates the essence of a spick and span girl. What do you think worth doing?

I notice a few people appologising for including non SS pics in the thread, more please, after all this the girls of... NOT SS! So it is nice to see non toco pics of some of the old favourites!

I've had these few pics on my hard drive for years. I think the blonde with Liz is Marilyn but perhaps someone could say Yay or Nay to that.
