One more thing that led to alot of the bikini contests and T&A contests showing up on VHS in the 1980's was the emergence of the video stores (notably Blockbuster). Most of the larger chains and many smaller mom-and-pop places would NOT stock X-rated and adult films but they needed something in the "R" category to at least appeal to that genre.

Blockbuster & West Coast Video in particular purchased lots of T&A and bikini contests. An order from them would be good for thousands of stores, even before any retail orders.

More names, alot of these girls were mostly on the California circuit in the mid-1980's onward. But some of them may have been older or just not 'as hot' as some of the girls who would become T&A models, centerfolds, etc. Alot of these girls would do car show bikini contests which were big in California throughout the 1980's. Unfortunately, the main goal of the contests was to attract attendees not sell videotapes of the contest so most (all of them?) have no professional video tapes of the events, maybe at most private hand-cams or Super-8 silent movies or whatever was in use then.

Anyway, here are some of the names I came up:

Christa Campbell (B movies actress for a while)

While we are making lists, here are the winners to my recollection of the popular pay-per-view series i still obsess about - The Bikini Open.

1 - Karen Croney

2 - Pamela Paulshock

3 - Patricia Ford

The pics are horrible i know, but they are placeholders. I dont recall anything after 6 but i suspect there were a few more because on the CD there was footage of other girls i hadnt seen before. Only part 3 is listed in the IMDB, and not even all of the contestants are listed - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0484965/ . If anyone has more info please help!

Well, the 1st picture on the left is from the California Girl Bikini Contests....I'd say one of the later contests, since I don't see either Ginger Miller or Julie Kruis in the photo. I recognize Christie Mitchell in the back row with her criss-cross bikini top, 2nd from left (next to the giant in the purple/red bikini

).

The other photo is from the Fox Hunt video series, don't know any of the girls.

Maybe we have someone who can ID all of most of them, esp. the CGBC since that was a real bikini contest in Southern California at the height of their popularity; I think the Fox Hunt video was mostly staged for the video release.

In the Tiffany Ann photo the blonde girl to Tiffany Ann's left is Dana Lowry. The girl on Tiffany Ann's right I'm not positive but I think she called herself "Bianca". And the girl in the black bikini front row is Michelle Thornberg.

Strange...the layout on stage and down in the 'pit' for that Fox Hunt Video contest looks the same as OSCARS, the location for the California Girl Bikini Contest.

Could they both have been filmed at the same location, even if the place changed names ? I know OSCARS closed down at some point.
