Many people, particularly in UK (where the IWF filter is prevalent) are experiencing difficulties with various file hosts; connection/no connection [page load / various 'bad' messages when trying to d/load], etc, etc, etc.

A solution to this, which works in all UK cases and other countries also is to install a VPN - Virtial Private Network (tunnel).
This tunnel makes both ends of your connection invisible to ISP's etc, 'relocates' your computer, and usually eliminates most peoples problems.

Once you have registered apply for an IPv4 tunnel.
They will ask your location and you may choose your nearest connection point.
You then submit your choice (they already recommend what they consider to be your best option) and then you will be issued with a series of details.

I know there are good and bad points about all hosts, but I have to say (with the greatest respect to some esteemed posters) that this one is killing the forum because it is slower than a snail with arthritis.

I don't have the technical knowledge to say whether it is the host, or the need to use pimpandhost to power images, but we have no choice with pimpandhost (see specific thread on that in this section).

Image hosts are allowed/banned according to various criteria - surely the time has come to include speed/performance in the mix, in the interests of efficiency?

[Note I have mobile access or weak wi-fi, so this does add to the problem somewhat. However, last time I tried on fixed wire, it wasn't a whole heap better to be honest].

pimpandhost loads the pix extremely slow, now taking several minutes if there are several posts in a row with many pix from there. But that is usual.

Lately, a lot of pix don't load at all, showing a red x. Even if you click on an individual picture where you can see the thumbnail, the box showing the full size picture may remain empty.

I'm hoping it's just me as a lot of very good posters are using this very bad host.

it has always been a slow host, takes about 10-20 seconds on my box depending on the file size.
But i have not had any red X image not showing problems

A couple of things

It always helps if you link to a post your having issues with so others can at least give you feedback based on the same material

Mention what browser & operating system your running

As I found out yesterday some anti-virus can cause loading issues with images on the v-bulletin platform

Lastly if pimpandhost is loading slow check their help forum...
when their bad they get inundated with their own members posting complaints

just checked a giant thumbnail on another forum which was loading quickly yesterday
filesor is hanging for at least 10 seconds

Not great but i think it brings up several issues which will never be resolved
Namely - how many pics in a post is too many?
Should mass posted pics be backed up by a filehost link?

I asked a similar question about pimp n host yesterday, as a lot of my recent /current posted pics were disappearing into red x/box. still the same problem today.

I have also had problems witha fake antivirus shutting down my ie8 browser from this site!

I've also had this problem on two or three occaisions with red X's appearing when I'm using pimpand host. I ended up using imagevenue instead.

pimpandhost is just a lousy host, i have stopped thanking everyone that usues it, regardless of great content
