I spelled this out a little more thoroughly in another thread, but essentially the President can (but not shall) do whatever it takes to protect Netanyahu from prosecution by the ICC/ICJ. Or, at least, that is my reading of the US law, but I am not a lawyer. I also brought up the fact that Netnayahu's citizenship status with regard to the US is an open question. Which, to many users outside the US, probably doesn't make a lot of sense as to why this question matters, but America has historically (not so much recently) taken a very (frankly) belligerent view when it comes to the rights of our citizens charged abroad. However, the choice is left up to the President on how we handle potential conflicts around this.

If Israel wants to remove and charge Netnayahu there is not a thing President Biden will do, he's been voted out of office before, and corruption has followed his career. But this time he has to answer for 30k deaths and the destruction of Gaza by who succeeds him. Despite his pacemaker there will be no Shah of Iran treatment.

And apparently democrats are going to support Mike Johnson from being removed if Greene brings a vacate motion. Biden should be all over Jefferies the price is bipartisan border bill be brought to the floor which would pass.

Johnson forced a democrat to go to congress out of surgery earlier this year in his hospital gown to stop republicans for passing Mayorkas impeachment measure the first time.

I was speaking with regard to the ICC. Netanyahu has a whole other set of legal problems in Israel.

Biden press conference at WH: Destroying property is not a peaceful protest. It is against the law. Vandalism, trespassing, breaking windows, shutting down campuses, forcing the cancellation of classes and graduations, none of this is a peaceful protest.

There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it is antisemitism, islamophobia, discrimination against arab-americans or palestinian-americans. It is simply wrong.

We are not an authoritarian nation where we silence people or squash dissent. In fact, peaceful protests is in the best tradition of how Americans respond to controversial issues, but neither are we a lawless country.
