Here's some more of Janie performing another one of her fantasy striptease shows. Probably a bit of a minority taste...but good fun putting this stuff together!

I'm just back from Paris where I attended a show at the Casino de Paris, The Gentry de Paris Revue.

This was an all singing and dancing revue celebrating the golden age of cabaret, but the star attraction for me was Dita von Teese.

Dita performed two routines. In the first she started off in her sparkly red costume...

and then performed a fan dance with her red ostrich feather fans...

before ending up in the rotating martini glass.

Dita is a true professional and the perfection in her routines shows this. Click, click. That was the two suspender clips released. Then it was down with the stocking and off the toe in one fluid acrobatic movement. Even after removing her high heels, she still walks around the stage on her toes. It is amazing just how sexy a woman walking about a stage pulling poses can be. Much sexier compared to someone spinning around a pole before ending up sitting an the stage with her legs open.

Her finale was The Opium Den routine.

I would love to describe this routine, but I know anything I said would be inadequate. It was simply amazing and has to be seen to be appreciated.

Not quite "traditional" striptease, 'cos it incorporates a magic act, but striptease it is, performed on stage in front of a Montreal celebrity audience.

I did a forum search and could not find it so I hope this isn't a double post.

Hmm I am not so sure that was Burlesque as most of us think of it, cheering crowds of baying men-this audience with women and men of a certain age looked more like something you'd get with in the London Paladium for a Command Performance-classy, no doubt about it, she was good but I am sure there are Burlesque dancers that go further-for me the tassle twirling was dull.

'In its infinate wisdom, the UK government is proposing to lump burlesque in with lap-dancing/stripping etc and classify it as a 'sexual encounter', so requiring performances to obtain suitable licencing.'

Well no, actually. More an attempt to make it too expensive and troublesome to bother doing, as is the purpose of a lot of its sex legislation. Our basically Puritan government is on another of it's somewhat misguided 'legislate against adults having some fun' trips. Only a Puritan, or a Labour Home Office, convinced that somewhere, someone is having fun and must be saved from it, would conflate burlesque, which is fundamentally light entertainment, with lap dancing.

The 'Labour' is superfluous - both lots are just as bad as each other in this regard. The days of Mrs T weren't exactly a haven of sexual freedom!

Point taken, but there does seem to me to be a particularly zealous puritan streak running through this administration and its civil service. It manifests itself in the interfering manner of much of the last 12 year's legislation.

Hi First time poster having only recently found this excellent site.
Does any member remember a classic striptease using a mannequin and ending with a large champagne glass ? The performer was dressed in an evening gown and she controlled the mannequins action as she undressed fully. If I recall correctly the program was American, but I saw it on a European channel in the mid Nineties.

Any help identifying the artiste or a clip of the act would be most welcome.
