An ironic follow up to this story is that after they stripped her of the crown the runner up, Carole Tredille was also disqualified after entering into the porn business. Didn't she learn her lesson from Isabelle? They take away her title because of the naked pictures and give it to a future porn star.
Carole Tredille then lost her title too and they gave it to the third place contestant.

Isabelle Chaudieu: http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...-chaudieu.html

Yes, I think it is rather funny.
Afterwards, Ysabelle Chaudieu told a journalist the furore she had caused gave her lots of free publicity and as a result she had plenty of modelling work afterwards.

What's more, it happened again in 2009 with the new winner who was the then Miss Paris and had just posed for some risque photos (rather more a silly prank than a sexy set); she also had to relinquish her title as Miss France.

The following year, the story repeated itself with the new Miss France who had done porno before the contest and was consquently stripped of her title.

This kind of thing comes up enough that just maybe it's time to change the rules. The idea that a contest is being held to find a beautiful, yet virginal, woman to represent a country is just silly... which is why people have been ridiculing beauty pageants for years. Not to mention the fact that so many of these "virginal" beauties get caught fooling around with judges.

At the very least they could change the rules so that, say, any prior professional modeling or "performing" is not allowable. That way the people who hold these contests could maintain that they want complete amateurs, and that it isn't any type of "moral stance".

I agree with you.

All around Europe, there have been contestants fooling around with judges; this is a well known fact and not new.

Of course I don't mean every contestant do that, but it is human for the judges to be tempted (I would even say very tempted).

The problem is that there are generally financial reasons to be hypocrit and pretend nothing changed since the rules were made.

It'll be interesting to see what line Harrow School will end up taking over the case of their art teacher Joanne Salley

If you've missed this one, Joanne (a former model and TV presenter) posed topless in jeans for a female colleage and professional photographer in the school's photography lab. A pupil apparently found a memory stick with copies of the photos, and promptly passed them around the school

When it was reported in the UK press last week, the official line being taken by the head was to support the teacher, and insist that the boys were to delete any copies of the pics, on pain of suspension for anyone caught circulating them

You gonna be okay there? Have a problem with the word "colloquialism"? Just in a sh***y mood?
I was in a perfectly fine mood. I just commented on your assertions and ad-hominems - which I disagreed with.

Quote:
And anyone who feels powerless might go to the wrong lengths to feel empowered. "Language of women" has nothing to do with it.
Shaming language is one of the most commonly used internet tactics by women. Coupled with an assertion, and it becomes even more so. Pointing that out is not in itself an insult. But since I was referring to a certain type of tactic used by certain women, perhaps I should've said "certain type of woman" to avoid lumping them all together. Using a generalisation was my mistake, not the observation itself.

Quote:
And if you can't talk about this politely, Mr. "Kind of thing a woman would say", we'll just end this conversation right here.
My points were meant as observations not insults, to indicate I felt you were speaking purely emotively without much evidence to back it up. Did you not see the "you're right" at the start? I agreed with your general point about him doing something nasty and damaging someone's life, but I disagreed with the shaming and the assertions.

As for talking about it politely:

Quote:
He's a little prick.
A lying little prick.
Just another tiny-penised douchebag trying to feel empowered
Just in a sh***y mood?
I have been polite. Have you?

There was a time in the UK when Miss Great Britain was only held for the benefit of Guest Judge, Mr George Best

How can someone say "don't treat me like a sex object" if a colleague says "I jerked off to your pics last night - great tits!" when that person has just made money from the rights of the public to view them as such? Employers are very aware of this, and tread a very fine line.
She may yet to be fired but the follow-up articles below may add to why being a teacher ( or any of the professions previously posted that they were fired for)and having nude pics floating around may be counterproductive to her profession. As others have posted (example above), you can't separate being sexualized and treated in a professional manner. Maybe with more sensitivity training and feminism rhetoric, us male pigs can stop sexualizing women unless they tell us that we can.
She already had problems with male students and their infatuations, now they have naked pics to further add to their masturbatory fantasies?

Every teacher's worst nightmare: Joanne Salley's topless pictures in pupils' hands
By Andrew Banks, staff writers at The Sun

A TEACHER fled a top private boys' schools in tears after discovering pupils there were sharing topless pictures of her on their mobile phones.
The risqué images of art teacher Joanne Salley, 32, in just a tight pair of jeans were discovered by a pupil at Harrow in London on a memory stick left in the school's photo lab.
Ms Salley, a former model who used to date England rugby star Matt Dawson, was humiliated when she found out that pupils had been sharing them on their mobile phones.
The pictures had been shot by the school's head of photography, professional photographer Fiona Corthine.
In one Ms Salley is draped over a bookcase. In another she stares straight at the camera.
The pictures are believed to have been taken in the school's art rooms.

They circulated so fast that nearly all 825 students saw them.
"They went around like wildfire. Everyone was texting or bluetoothing them. She must be the most popular teacher in Harrow's history," said one pupil
Barnaby Leon, head teacher at the £30,000-a-year ($46,570) school, said: "The pictures were stolen without the agreement of the photographer, who holds the copyright.
"Joanna was understandably very upset."
Pupils were told to delete the pictures from their phones and told they would be suspended if they were caught with them again. Embarrassingly for Ms Salley, the pictures have since made their way onto the internet.

‘She was already the subject of hundreds of schoolboy crushes so naturally the photos went round the school like wildfire’, said a source.Source: www.dailymail.com. Few questions though -
  • Why isn't somebody concerned about her doing a topless shoot on school property?
  • Where were these teachers when I was in school

They have been seen by the majority of the school’s 825 male pupils, its teachers and even its kitchen staff.

The pictures were quickly passed round boys at Harrow School

Pupils who forwarded these pictures to the Mail did so after censoring them with modesty boxes.
The images have even made it as far as Miss Salley’s former school – Merchant Taylors’.
Pupils first started to receive the pictures – on their iPhones and BlackBerries – last weekend.

Harrow staff, noticing a stir, were made aware of the scandal on Tuesday.

They have since demanded that all pupils delete the pictures.

Any pupil caught circulating them has been threatened with immediate suspension.

Pupils have been told Miss Salley, a former Cambridge University student, fears her reputation has been so damaged, she will never teach again.
‘She was already the subject of hundreds of schoolboy crushes so naturally the photos went round the school like wildfire’, said a source.

Prestigious: Harrow School where Miss Salley is an art teacher charges fees of £29,670

This is not the first time Miss Salley has attracted unwanted attention to the school.
She revealed in 2006 that she had received advances from one of the pupils.

‘One of the boys kept sending me love letters…another pupil used to turn up to my classes even though I didn’t teach him,’ she said.
Miss Salley has taught at the school for several years, but took a career break a few years ago to work for Comic Relief does Fame Academy and as a researcher for the BBC’s Hard Sell.

Under circumstances like this the woman would have to be fired. What a lady does in her private life is one thing; involving both her work locations and a fellow staff member? Complete insanity, not only for involving the school directly, but also for thinking that she could do so and then not immediately have it get out.

Any profession where nudity and morals clash can get you fired, but it seems that teachers are the one's in the most trouble, hence the disproportionate amount of posts about teachers. I swear I am not picking on teachers...

Teacher fired for porn star past

You can't escape your past - especially if your past involves starring in X-rated films.
Tera Myers lost her job teaching science at a Missouri high school on Monday after a student discovered that she had starred in pornographic films under the name Rikki Anderson two decades ago.
In 2006 she lost a similar teaching job under the name Tericka Dye in Kentucky after school officials discovered her sultry past. After that incident, Myers said making the films was the worst decision of her life, Heartland News reports.
"I'm a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who's made a lot of bad decisions in life," she said. "Anybody who's been in my classroom could tell you how much I love teaching and how much I love these students, and that should be what matters more than anything in my past."

I'll admit, I'm torn here. If I had kids, there's no way I'd want a former porn star teaching them. But aren't redemption and opportunity (supposedly) foundational to our society? Myers took the jobs because she needed the money, and subsequently went to college and met her teaching qualifications.
And most of us can understand being young and taking any job for want of money. I, for one, have done it all: from cleaning toilets to modeling; from working retail to working as a nanny.
But most of us would draw the line way before pornography. Perhaps Myers loves teaching, but accountability is a part of one's professional life. In a different field, her past might be excusable, but it's hard to imagine a school - or parents - that would accept Myers as a teacher.
She might prefer teaching, but Myers will surely be able to find another job. And let's face it - she can probably find a way to profit off this incident anyway. Lifetime movie, anyone?
