Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc - Page 29

ImageBam does their routine maintenance in a very poor manner. They will frequently have multiple servers down for hours or even days every few months.

Well! I see a picture with a specific adress

For example

http://img23.imagevenue.com/img.php?..._122_532lo.jpg

Well, after seein the image i've guessed that there must be a "Parent directory" behind this.

But now my question.

How do i get to this directory?? for img23. cause this number raises AND the number in front of the image could also lead to a directory (here it's 47421), but if i delete the imagename and try to get the directory, it says only "welcome to imagevenue", but I think that there are mor img23. pics in this folder.

Hope I've specified it much more.

AFAIK there's no way to do what you want because the other numbers are randomly generated. There is no parent directory.

I have tried this before too, it works almost but usually after I get into the folder I can open maybe 10-20 images, after minute or two I start to get just "Not found"-messages for every link. I think ImageVenue don`t want people to browse their folders this way so their system automatically kicks drifters like me out.

On the other hand, if you know what you are searching from the web there`s lots of easier ways to get it than this, but It`s fun to dig up random pictures !

But there are some site-pic-downloaders which download all pics of a certain page. If you have a "parent directory" opend, would it be possible to use such progs, or is this not possible?

BID (Bulk Image Downloader) will grab all the images on a page (or post) for you.

I only get into the img.-folder, not further. I think It`s impossible to get into parent directories, it loads so long time that you end up in 404-message.

EDIT: ...but I have tried "Parent directory" just few times, so maybe I`m unlucky, it could depend on browser too, I use Safari. On FireFox there´s a nice free add-on "ImageHostGrabber" but I haven`t used it in anything else than downloading posts on forums, so I don`t know if It´s working with img.-directories.
