Shayne Dahl Lamas is an American actress. She is best known for her role as the Young Carly Corinthos on 'General Hospital' in 2005, and as the 'winner' of the twelfth season of 'The Bachelor' in 2008. She has been in 'Leave it to Lamas', 'General Hospital', 'Air America', 'The 13th Alley' and 'In The Pines' and she had her own reality television show "Lamas to Lamas" in 2009.

Bad Drinkies:

In November 2009, she was stopped at a Sobriety checkpoint in Venice, California. After failing the breathalyzer test, she was arrested for DUI. After her arrest, she released a statement admitting that she had consumed one drink the night of her arrest, and apologizing for her "lack of judgment."

On December 7, 2009, two days ahead of a scheduled court appearance, she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of "wet reckless." She was fined $300, sentenced to three years' probation and ordered to undergo alcohol education and also to complete the L.A. County Morgue program.

She met her husband in 2010 - The couple, eloped to Las Vegas after reportedly only knowing each other for 12 hours. The spouse is the founder of the gossip site 'TheDirty.com', and they now have a child named 'Press' .... so what do I know?

Semhar Tadesse is a true minor celeb .... She is of Eritrean heritage, but resides in Los Angeles. She claims to be occupied as a 'Spoken Word Artist' ('Poetess' in old money!). She was a contestant in Season 12 of TV reality show "Survivor", and was the first person booted off the show

In October this year, law enforcement officials confirmed that the 25-year-old Tadesse ran a red light in L.A. and was pulled over. Police Officers caught a strong smell of alcohol from the vehicle when she wound down her window, and they determined to administer a field sobriety test. The story leaked to the press confirmed that Tadesse blew a '.14' a figure which is nearly twice the legal limit in California. She was arrested on the spot and taken to jail, where she remained for some hours until she found the $5,000 bail, when she was released.

Sources close to Tadesse put out the tale that she was unable to walk in a straight line because of a foot injury but that she is still accepting responsibility, and feels extremely disappointed in herself, especially after losing a close friend to drunk driving in the past ..... Hmm.

Yolande Betbeze Fox (b.Yolande Betbeze) is a convent educated girl who when casting about for a way in which to further her educational chances hit upon the cunning plan of entering the world of beauty pageants. She firstly entered the Miss New Jersey competition in Atlantic City in 1950. Then the Miss Alabama 1951 competition, ostensibly for the scholarship opportunities the pageant presented. She won, and moved on to the Miss America contest in the same year. Again she won and she studied philosophy at New York's New School of Social Research. She continued to sing, appearing with the Mobile Opera Guild in "The Tales of Hoffmann."

After her one-year reign as Miss America, she served as an honorary ambassador to Paris, was active in the NAACP, CORE (Congress of Racial Equality), and SANE (The Committee for a SANE Nuclear Policy). She was also prominent making a stand for civil rights by picketing Woolworth's at Times Square, as well as being a forerunner in the Feminist Movement.

She went on to have a career as an opera singer, before marrying movie tycoon, Matthew Fox in 1954, and she then resided in California until the time of his death. She went on to travel the globe, devoting a great deal of energy to philanthropic causes. She settled into a long-term relationship with the Algerian ambassador Cherif Guellal, and he and Fox led an active social life, frequenting academic meetings and circulating among Washington's social and intellectual elite until his death in 2009.

Her Oops moment, was something of a moral one by this threads standards ... she had complied with all pageant rules to-date by wearing what she considered 'tasteful swimsuits' during all the competitions. Shortly after winning the Miss America pageant, and barely had Bert Parks finished singing "There she is, Miss America..." than she announced that she would no longer wear swimsuits on her engagements. This pronouncement was apparently made after a meeting with representatives of sponsor Catalina Swimwear, where she learned that she was expected to wear 'Catalina' bathing suits during her appearances around the country. She refused, stating that such activities did not promote her view of the pageant as a scholarship-granting organization.

However as the pictures below clearly show, she was wearing much the same costume already, so this reason for not wearing them after winning Miss America, may have been created or embellished later, but in any event, her actions had unforseen, and nearly catastrophic consequences for the Miss America competition. As a result of her stance, the the swim suit company 'Catalina', were so angry that they withdrew their sponsorship of the Miss America pageant, and eventually brought about the creation of the rival Miss USA pageant .... twice the fun was born.

Mind you, you can't blame the Catalina swimsuit company for being annoyed, their model of the year for 1951 was one Marilyn Monroe, and if it was good enough for Monroe, well .....

Ingrid Marie Rivera Santos is a Puerto Rican actress. She started her career in the traditional manner in the beauty pageants. In 2002 she was Miss Barranquitas World and Miss Puerto Rico Hawaiian Tropic. In 2003 she won Miss Global Queen, two years later she won 2005 Miss World of Puerto Rico and finished second at Miss World International, receiving the title of Miss World Caribbean.

She was Miss Puerto Rico in 2008 and is a former Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico who obtained the title of Miss Caribbean when she placed 2nd Runner-up at the 2005 Miss World pageant. She then competed at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, but did not advance beyond the semifinals. She now lives in Mexico City where she is an actress in soap operas.

Sabotage!:

She's here because she was involved in one of those strange events that seem to litter the beauty pageant world. During her participation and winning the 2008 Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant in November 2007 (they run them before the year of the event), she claimed that she had felt a strange reaction on her skin .... Rivera said that she had maintained her composure and applied ice packs to her hive-covered body when she was not on camera, while also suffering a bomb threat and the theft of her credit cards.

She made these accusations two days after being crowned the winner. She blamed her competition gown and her makeup for this strange reaction. The pageant organizers were forced to investigate, and stated publicly that person or persons unknown had doused her personal items with pepper spray. However it has to be said that there was some scepticism at the time' Like how had she managed to keep smiling?

The matter was referred to the police ... who passed the items to the island's Forensic Science Institute, who announced that no traces of pepper spray had been found on the garment or her makeup brushes. During an interview about the incident on Channel 4 WAPA-TV, Police Superintendent Pedro Toledo stated that he would look into what he called 'false accusations' as well as the possibility of 'pressing perjury charges'. He said he would not tolerate the use of public resources for publicity purposes

But in yet another bizarre twist, the same FSI who had earlier said that there was no trace of pepper spray, now re-ran the tests and announced that someone had indeed doused Rivera's garments with pepper spray. A Puerto Rico Police spokesman, stated that "Miss Puerto Rico Universe was speaking the truth. She was being sincere about the allegations."

Evidence was forwarded to the district attorney's office for possible criminal prosecution ..... nothing ever came of it. I said it was a strange event.

Maria Venus Bayonito Raj is a Filipina beauty queen of mixed Filipino and Indian birth. She was brought in poverty, as the youngest among five children and living a nipa hut made of wood, bamboo and anahaw leaves, with no electricity, in the middle of a sprawling rice field in the rural Bato town for more than twenty years.

She started joining local beauty pageants and practised oratory at San Vicente High School. With the money her victories in beauty contests she brought land on installment basis for her mother as a means of improving their livelihood She also did well at school winning a scholarship. She eventually obtained a Diploma in Communications Arts, major in Journalism, at Bicol University in Albay, with Latin honors (Cum Laude).

She now works as an Information Assistant for the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Region V, and supplements this with part-time fashion modelling in her native Bicol and Manila.

Dethronement!

In March 2010, she was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe during the pageant's Grand Coronation Night and won the right to represent the Philippines in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. But a few weeks after her coronation, she was dethroned by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. citing alleged inconsistencies between her birth certificate and the personal account of her birth ... to whit her nationality being questioned.

In an emotional interview on local television she stated that a representative for the Miss Universe 2010 had spoke with her and looked into her case. In the same interview, she said, “My fight is now more than just chasing a dream. It is about clearing my soiled reputation. It is about standing up for people who are poor and born out of wedlock. It is a fight for acceptance.”

The pageant organizers temporarily reinstated her in April on 'humanitarian grounds', but she had to also legally obtain a valid Philippine passport as proof of her true citizenship. This was eventually issued by the Philippine government, the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. announced that they reinstated her fully. She is the first-ever dethroned Binibining Pilipinas to have successfully been reinstated to the crown.

Sadly it all proved for naught ... in the 2010 Miss Universe in Las Vegas about her only notable achievement was that she won in a Chicken Wing Eating Contest

Trivia:

• She allegedly used rice paddy dikes for her early training where she eventually developed her distinct catwalk.
• When she was deposed, she had to be replaced by the 2nd runner up, because in another minor scandal, the first runner-up Diane Elaine S. Necio, also from Bicol was only 17 years old and did not meet the age requirement policies of Miss Universe

Christa Helm (b. Sandra Wohlfeil m. Clements) was a small town girl who had married aged 16 in 1965 (possibly while pregnant), but who had dreams .... she became a go-go dancer at age 17 and later a Pl*yboy bunny. While in the process of divorcing her husband, she became a widow as the result of a car accident. She left her child from this marriage to be raised by her grandfather, and armed with her insurance money, she upped sticks, left her child and headed to Hollywood to live her dream. She took the name of 'Christa Helm', and she seems to have entered into the industry in a horizontal position in an effort to break into movies .... she was soon known to have had many 'boyfriends', including her agent.

She got her first film role in the 'Legacy of Satan' in 1974 when she was twenty five. She went on to have a role in 'Let's Go for Broke' (never released) in the same year .... her brief career was composed of just two more roles, both in 1976, the TV series 'Starsky & Hutch' and 'Wonder Woman', and that was about that. She did a Coppertone commercial, and recorded a disco album that would never see the light of day.

Down to her last few dollars, and always waiting on that prime time break through role that would never come, she allegedly logged all of her gossip and 'love' details in a secret diary. This diary was rumored to have been filled with the names of all her many famous lovers, as well as the details of their more private moments and sexual foibles .... in fact much that many would never want to have made public, but which she intended to print, or threaten to print, if no acting work came along. The fact that this diary and its probable contents, was known about by many in the industry, must have sent a shiver down the spines of those who would be in it .... it might have been better if she hadn't advertised its existence.

Still, she was just another girl who had abandoned all for the chance of that ephemeral item known as 'fame', but there was to be a sinister twist in her particular tale. Sadly, she achieved her dream of fame, but only by being the main subject of one of Hollywood's greatest unsolved crimes .... for like the famous 'Black Dahlia' case, she herself was murdered.

On February 2, 1977, Christa Helm was found dead near her car after leaving a party. Her body was covered with well over 20 stab wounds, and she was also bludgeoned with a blunt instrument, in what was obviously a frenzied attack (not what would be expected in a robbery, but more like what police would expect from someone who knows and hates the victim). She bled to death under a parked car near the apartment of her agent.

Initially, the murder received surprisingly little press coverage for someone so well known in the gossip columns of the Hollywood press - but eventually the papers had a field day with rumors and speculation as to motive and consequences making the shocking crime more lurid. Some papers referred to Christa as a 'party girl', with her many supposed liaisons with celebrities and wealthy men (both married and unmarried), with some suggestion (see paper clipping in pictures), that she was killed because of the diary she kept. Her “Tommy Boy” handbag was never found, and the diary was believed to have been in the handbag when she was murdered.

Among her publicly stated lovers were Warren Beatty, Mick Jagger, Michael Sarrazin, George Hamilton, Desi Arnez jnr, Johhny Rivers, Englebert Humperdinck, and Roma Polanski. Christa even told friends that the Shah of Iran had flown her overseas to his palace for a week. Her daughter Nicole later said that “There was a rumor that the federal government here in the States often used models and starlets like my Mom to get information from him. They apparently approached my mother to help them and she began filtering information to them on his activities. The Shah was said to have given her many beautiful gifts, like jewelry and furs. I was told he was quite smitten with her but you know, he had lots of other girls like Mom in his harem” ..... but there were many others who may not have wanted their names linked to hers.

Whether she planned to blackmail (or at least 'threaten publication or else'), to try and get her 'movie' released, or even to get new parts, we will never know, but its a certainty that if she had ever revealed the names and sexual foibles of all the men she had 'partied' with in her Hollywood career, then there would have been an almighty scandal ... The crime is still unsolved to this day ..... with many theories and web sites dedicated to the crime. It remains one of the darkest examples of the price that can be ultimately paid when chasing 'stardom'.

Trivia:

• Her Height 5' 9" (1.75 m)
• A retired detective on the '48 Hour Mystery show' believed her murder was carried out by the same person who had murdered actor Sal Mineo.
• Her murder was also featured on 'Celebrity Justice'
• She claimed in newspaper interviews to be a karate black belt.
• She married Gary Clements in 1965.

All things come to an end eventually, and with the tale of 'good time girl' and wannabee starlet Christa Helm meeting a gruesome end, I feel that that time has come now. So after so many posts on the thread (including about 700 from me), I have decided that my regular postings have reached a natural end. I didn't want to just let the thread wither away by lack of posts, so I am posting this final (ish) post as an explanation to those who have visited regularly.

There are three reasons for this decision:

1. Primarily: The subjects are increasingly harder to find, and I don't want to degrade the standards of the thread by moving into the easy world of A listers (all of whom have threads already, and whose stories are all well known e.g. Paris Hilton, Liz Taylor, Marilyn Monroe etc etc) - in my opinion that would spoil the aims of the thread when it was set up. So I wanted to finish with posts at the same standard of minor, or forgotten and always disgraced as the rest of the thread.
2. Secondly: The posts are very time consuming (as those of you who have posted in the format will have found ), with some posts taking two or three hours (searching, content research, image hunting, image repair and mounting and uploading), and I can't always find the time for this.
3. And finally, a very small thing I know, but someone chose to mark down the thread from its five stars rating, and for some reason I found that very dispiriting (Qwik update: Thanks to those who have kindly restored the rating to 5 star ... )

So taking all these factors into consideration, this seems to be as good a time as any to call it a day .... I will of course, post if any new ones turn up, but this will be occasional posts only. I hope that you have enjoyed the trip across the centuries, continents, and every culture .... there are many girls listed here, from the plain silly, to the real evil, and I hope something for every taste.

Xmas Bonus Post #1: Despite my retirement from regular updates on this thread, I did say I would post occasionally as and when items turned up. This the first of *two seasonal french hens for your delectation and inspection.

The first of these is Sarah De Herdt who is a now former Belgian track and field athlete, and who is also currently a female 'fitness' competitor as well .... she won the Belgium 'Nabba' fitness award in 2002 and took the title in 2003 as well. She also did well in the 2004 championship open IFBB. In the Belgian Athletic Championships in 2006, she was a finalist in the "body finesse” category (muscles to me and you ), and then took the 6th spot in the final of the 200 meters. She was also reported to have attracted crowds of up 20,000 to watch her 'workouts' because of her stardom in the women's body building arenas .... [I]sounds a bit much, but that's what the stories say


Oops Moment:

Then, when all was going so well she indulged in her other 'hobby' .... amateur porn. She started posting anonymous pictures of herself 'nekked as a jay bird' on various 'amateur porn sites', but her notoriety in the bodybuilding world was such that word soon got out ... but instead of a flurry of excuses and anonymity, she just posted more graphic images. These included apparently public bondage and BDSM sessions, and then finally a porn movie (which can be easily found on the web under searches such as 'Belgian Athlete Pool Sex' on multiple sites).

She apparently still does bodybuilding exhibitions, and has several 'fansites', as her 'porn experiments' don't really cause much of a ripple in that self absorbed environment, but sadly her athletic career took a serious down turn after the stories broke.
