Thanks for those wise words, Steve Silver. I've taken on board your sage advice and have removed all of my Imagebam photos and will now spend the next three months uploading them to Pimp & Host. This forum could do with more prolific contributors like you, contributors who reflect good on the forum and give it a good name.

1 post in 2.5 years and its a complaint and only 34 thanks given, "a little bit embarrasing i think" Imagebam is one of the best and most reliable just for
your imformation.

I have this problem all the time at home, i cannot view imagevenue or pixroute at all, but it is a problem at my end that cannot get rectified, or else i would have posted much more by now, but i dont want to go double posting what i cannot see, i have to wait until im at work in spare time vo view VEF.
Perhaps you have a problem at your end you need to investigate instead of complaining about something that others have no problem with.

problems actually started last monday, so we can't really complain about a lengthy downtime imho

I'm getting really annoyed this evening. I uploaded a dallery of 120 pics to Imagebam only to get a message that four of the images had been banned.
So I upload the same gallery to Imagevenue only for them to lose seven of the pics.

Is it just me or does this happen to everyone else?

Its not just you, Ex. Imagevenue is in one of their bad periods. I don't know if its a bug in their indexing system, bad servers or HDs or bad network connections but sometimes they just aren't reliable to upload to. The sad part is they are still one of the best available!

To EXFARMER and others,

I am having the same problems as you with Imagevenue (losing 1 in 20 images). Imagevenue is initially blaming this issue on the forum being posted to, which I don't understand because the problem thumbs aren't loading into imagevenue. Thus you couldn't post the IV dropped images anywhere because they aren't there to post. Imagevenue has not gotten back to me about that bit of logic yet.

I switched to Imagebam and I have had no problems for 3 days but it appears that their "banning" issue (which is why I switched to IV about a year ago) is still there. I just haven't seen it yet.

I hesitate to switch to another host. From what I can tell IV and IB are the big two. I don't what to switch to another host only to have it go toes up - leaving me in the worst case position of having to re host a large number of posts.

Anyone have any ideas as to other reliable hosts??

Any help would be appreciated and I hope that my reports help us all.


P.S. By the way VEF logged me off while I was composing this brilliant post. I have learned to save my work to MS Word to avoid losing PM’s or non image posts. I suppose that VEF is saving server bandwidth or storage space or ? by doing this log off thing. Oh well, I am troubled too much by little things.

100% reliable doesnt exist for any online service

The real problem is we have all converged on the same hosts over the years and their buckling under the weight

The most reliable way to share mass pics is always going to be a filehost link
not any imagehosts imho...use an imagehost up to 125 pics by all means so people can pick and choose but back it up with a filehost link.

All this imagehost because of choice is overlooking the fact that pics die individually and are rarely replaced because the thumbnails are still there so you simply arent aware.

A filehost link dies - the uploader is sent a PM if someone really wants them
- the file re-upped most times with EVERY original image.

That rarely if ever happens for individual pics


As to the imagebam & imagevenue issues I have 2 rules

If an image is banned use an alternative filehost preferably one thats not big and widely used
or simply up it to a filehost with the rest of the pics as a backup

Logic says to me that including banned pics on a well known host that doesnt ban it is like lighting a fuse to a stick of dynamite / dmca takedown - maybe the whole gallery goes


I dont know what the imagevenue solution is as even small uploads lose 1-2 pics occasionally

Is anybody else having problems with Imagevenue today?
I can't log in, I enter what I'm sure is the correct password but venue say's it's incorrect.
I've tried loads of possible passwords and they don't work either. Also when I request the password via e-mail they tell me that my e-mail address doesn't appear in their records.
I sent them an e-mail but so far no reply.
