PL was created as club Chairmen new they had a product and money could be made. People blame Sky & BT etc, but it has always been about money. The rest of the world can watch all PL games live, except the UK. Surely it will not be long before clubs take charge of their own TV rights?
Meanwhile back at Selhurst Park, not sure if the players have downed tools or Moyes has run them into the ground. Moyes said in one of his interviews PL squads are too large and should be a lot smaller and in the next breath complained of fixture congestion and playing twice a week. I was expecting him to be removed but Sullivan still not grown a pair and we are stuck with him for the rest of the season, which is looking like nil points, even Luton must be smelling blood. Other three games Liverpool (H) Chelsea & City away. Season tickets slow on the uptake as DM contract runs till 30 June, if he gets another contract quite a few will not renew to watch his brand of footie. As a supposed defensive coach we leak far too many goals, we would be 17th on goals conceded, 19th on opposition touches in our penalty area. Moyes and his Alamo style need to go, sooner rather than later. |

At the start of the season Paul Merson predicted that Chelsea would get champion's leagu football. After last night's defeat it is beginning to look as though Chelsea are going to miss out on another season of European football.
A billion pounds of wasted money. Or is Merson just a lousy tipster who just puts a curse on any team that he predicts will do well? Or both?

Counting down to the Merseyside derby.
Idk what it is about this match up, but there's something about this fixture as though nothing else matters and time stops. Of all the competitions I follow, it's the only regular season fixture that gives me the same feeling as a final. |

Nice to see Tom Cleverly appointed manager. He's a nice chap and knows the club very well and has an affinity with the fans. Maybe he can get Alex Ferguson to give him more advice as he already has done.
That said I shall not be going to the Vic anymore. I've given up on domestic football for now until things change. Glad to see the idea of the FL clubs getting together to demand the FA change their decision regarding the FA Cup. Told a friend of mine who is a Chelsea fan but lives here in Watford to give up too. Now he was born in Battersea back in the mid sixties and was with the club during the six thousand crowds in the old Shed so I'll forgive him. But when you see mercenaries who cannot be bothered as they clearly were not last night you have to ask yourself why should I be bothered funding and supporting multimillionaires ? He's a bit of an old timer who recalls players like Micky Droy, Kenny Swain, Ray Wilkins, John Bumstead with affection. One of his favourites being Eddie McCreadie. Even he has come round to the point and while he still looks out for the results he's another one who has moved to watching Hemel Hempstead Town and Kings Langley FC. |
