"Being selected to be a Playmate was the most thrilling moment of my life. It was like being declared a Princess. Sitting next to Hef on a Movie Night at the Mansion was something I never believed would happen to me. I still get autograph requests, and so many are from young guys in their 20s and 30s, who long for the elegant style of The Girls of The 60s, especially those who were fortunate to have had the marvelous Pompeo Posar as their photographer.Prior to being selected as a Playmate, I worked as a Bunny at the Chicago Club. My favorite bunny suit was a bright blue, although I also wore a soft, light brown and a green one. What a wonderful opportunity that was. Outgoing and friendly by nature, I really enjoyed interacting with Club members. I also met many celebrities. It was great fun. Also, Hef would donate his limo to take 5 or 6 of us at a time who volunteered to visit Disabled Veterans in hospitals, who were delighted to see us and have a Polaroid photo taken with them.
I began reading Playboy as a sophomore in high school. Not only were the jokes the funniest, (Shel Silverstein’s the best) but also the interviews were outstanding and the only place I could read from James Baldwin, Mohammed Ali and other controversial authors at that time. I grew up reading Hef’s Playboy Philosophy and I’ve always been so proud to be associated with Playboy for their liberal stand on subjects deemed to be taboo by other publications at the time. I believe Playboy changed the world through its vision for freedom for all Americans.
I have my Centerfold beautifully framed and prominently displayed in my hallway just off my front door. Hef always said “Once a Playmate, always a Playmate,” and I still feel very special today.
I often post to the PML, using the tagline “The Thinking Man’s Playmate” and feel confident in doing so, as I am active politically and intensely sensitive to most liberal causes especially on the environmental issues.
The most-asked question has always been “What’s Hugh Hefner really like?”'
