Hello everyone,
first of all many thanks to my friend deezer for the support
and to all who are active here ...

The program including source code and updates can be found here:

The program is a drag and drop zone and works with all file formats.
It extracts a post number from a file name and opens the related post in VEF.

Here you can find my project data and updates:

VEF_Thumbs
Password: VEF

The data are collections of extracted thumbnails from existing forum posts.

What for?

Find threads, content, discussions, posts, even if threads are merged or requests are boxed.
Organise your own or other people's posts

My requirements:

It should be easy to use, fast, not static, drag and drop, free,
no own database to organize links, robust and maintenance free.
This project should not produce additional work, but save everyone's limited time and have fun.
This project does not contain any high resolution content, only small thumbs of existing forum contributions as previews.

The program:

This program was written for the MIR section, but works everywhere on VEF.

My solution is based on thumbnails.
To a locally stored thumbnail, one or more post numbers are added to the actual file name.
The post number always remains, even if the post is moved to another thread, as long as the post is not deleted.
The actual file name can be chosen freely, only these special characters must not be included /\<>?*:| and the length of the file name including the path is limited. Windows allows a maximum file name length, including the full path, of 256 characters.

Example:
...local path\Who is Laetitia from Whip? p=3150788.jpg opens this post.
...local path\Faith Nelson [TNC] p=2955796 p=5256921 p=5363666.jpg opens this or this or this post, depending on your selection.

How does it work?

The program works with drag and drop.
If you drag a file from the folder to the lady of the program (the image is not active in this post), then the program extracts the post number(s) and opens the related post in VEF with your default browser.

If you are working with more than one post number in a file name, the program offers a list to select a post number.

The files:

The files I provide were extracted from MIR.

Think of this data like a snapshot on the timeline.
They are not live, but they are not static and you can use them until the post is deleted.

You can change everything in your local data to suit your needs.
You can distribute them to a file-based collection or delete parts of them.

The thumb extraction has been limited to one post per thread.
File names may differ from the original thread title for various reasons.
It is possible that I had to change a letter to be compliant with the file system
or I tried to reduce the information to get shorter filenames and keep them similar.

It was not possible to extract everything at this time and there may be no response to a server during a limited time.
In these cases, I used a dummy image to keep the post number and preserve the modified description.

This image says nothing about the quality of the thread, it is just an indication.
No further action is required in this case.
You are free to replace it in your local data, but it will not be maintained in the project.
The only thing to keep in mind when replacing an image is that the file name in the new image must contain the post number(s).

Solved Model ID Request Threads

The file is called 'Solved_Model_ID_Request_Threads_MainFile.zip'

The file names are reduced to the IDs, an optional TAG and the post number.

You will find the data in the VEF_Thumbs folder in post #1

This file contains related thumbnails for drag and drop.

Later i am planning also updates with the differences only to reduce the downloads.

It contains 2442 related thumbnails for drag and drop from the non sticky threads.

The following updates for 'Mystery Corner'
will base on this file and contain only the new thumbs from those
threads that will be moved to this section.

The Mystery Boxes will follow later, because i have to handle them different.
The posts are representing former threads.
