Default Bunny mag US FEB 1962

Despite the resemblance with Monica Vitti, that's Anita, in Girls of Rome, a pictorial from Feb 1962 US edition of PB.

She's the perfect fit for the title...she was born in the Eternal Town.

Default Would You Have Enjoyed Being a Pal of Pallenberg, or a Pal in Pallenberg?

.

From PERFORMANCE (1970)

A viewing of Candy (1968) has led to this post of the film's star, and this post of the film's second female lead. Anita Pallenberg was a supporting actress in that movie, and she briefly offered nudity not yet recorded on this thread of hers, begun way back in 2007 by Member "Asdd" (who provided a place of birth as Italy, followed by her IMDb link, implying that's where he got the information from. Since then, the IMDb has revised the birth nation to Germany — more believable I think, since her parents were German, although her dad reportedly worked in Italy — and yet sources as her Hollywood Reporter obituary are still sticking to Italy. The 1944 birth year from Post #1 has also been adjusted to 1942 at the IMDb, likely given her son Marlon's claim, per the lady's New York Times obituary.)

A bodyguard of the Rolling Stones' Keith Richards described in his book the woman was "like a life-force, a woman so powerful, so full of strength and determination that men came to lean on her." In the 2023 documentary Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg (here's a clip), singer Sandro Sursock stated: "She was a very unpredictable person, which is something I liked... To meet somebody unpredictable is like putting a bit of adventure in your life."

Ms. Pallenberg with Sandro
Sursock, back in her day
.

"She had values, and then she would throw them out the window in one second. To us, she was somebody like dangerous. You know, we loved her. She created this honesty that we needed." Also: "There was a lot of drama. (She was) "sometimes furious and screaming, and terrorizing everybody, you know, and throwing things around, and then, an hour later... she would serve you tea. She was creating this constant chaos."

Perhaps you are as I, pretty ignorant of this lady; since I like to get "under the skin" of the ladies explored on Vintage Erotica Forum (although foremost committed to "the skin"), I've done some reading, and was especially attracted to these articles provided in past posts:

Next, 2020's Post #28 from "Chris Chunt" relates our lady's break-up with one Rolling Stoner to be with another Stoner, and was probably published around 1967. Last and best was 2020's Post #30, also by Chris Chunt, relating a "Daily Mail" article that excerpted pages from the 2020 biographical book, "She's a Rainbow: The Extraordinary Life of Anita Pallenberg." The title was taken from the famed 1967 song by the rock band, which is said to have been inspired by Anita, although there were other songs also written with her in mind, such as "Angie" and "You Got The Silver." This is the most revealing article, and I wanted to transcribe it for you, but character recognition did not work well given the inferior quality of the text.
So here's a summation pf Anita's life and loves. She came from an artistic background, and hung out with the crowd from 1960's La Dolce Vita by Fellini, and then journeyed to New York to rub shoulders with Andy Warhol and "Factory" gang. (At the time, she seems to have appeared nude in a play by the Living Theatre, called "Paradise Now.") Ms. Pallenberg could speak four languages (she said five), and became a model in Paris. Hopping all over the place, this young woman was.

.....
Regarding the last two, Beutelwolf (in Post #12) and later Fabrizio (in Post #27) revealed these webfinds of mine had
appeared in the magazine,
International Playmen, November 1967; I've colorized them to make them different.

The "quintessential rock star's girlfriend" (pegged by Vogue, as reported in the 2020 bio which called her a "super groupie") first met the Stones at a 1965 Munich concert, and her first conquest was Brian Jones. He kept beating her up (although she struck back), and then it was time to be with Keith Richards, a union that apparently lasted from 1967 until 1977, with three kids resulting (one died in infancy). Third Stoner who got into her pants was Mick Jagger, at least during the film Performance (the biographer reported Jagger kept taking her into the basement for sex, and some of the onscreen hijinks seemed to be for real); Richards did not take well to this betrayal, but the two remained an item.

She went Rolling with these Stones: 1) Brian Jones, 2) Keith Richards, and 3) Mick Jagger (from PERFORMANCE).

It was this film (shot in 1968, but too risque for release until 1970) that got her hooked on heroin, and perhaps that had something to do with why Performance was her last major movie. The films she is best known for came out in 1968-69, and there was nothing until 1976 (a relatively high-profile film from France, Le Berceau de Cristal, translated as "The Cradle Of Crystal," which I've not heard of), and then 1998 — after which she appeared in some half-a-dozen titles, the last from 2011. Six years later she died from Hepatitis C, which had plagued her for years.

....
This article sheds a little light on her time as a fashion designer; she got her four-year-degree in London when aged fifty-two.
As for the second photo, a similar one (from same shoot) has been put up in Post #7 (photog I.D.'ed as "James Baes"), and
repeated in Post #19... dash it all, now noticing this "original" webfind of mine was offered in Post #8 and the next one as well.
(Snoozing fellow is Keith Richards). The fourth and last image has also been put up on the thread (Post #6 for one), but this
version is a bit different. (Note in Beutelwolf's Post #12 that the photo was used on the cover of
Int'l Playmen. My "original"
webfind, photo 2 from above, also made an appearance in that post.)

Anita's first film was Degree of Murder (1967), where she played a young woman who accidentally kills her boyfriend and then tries to hide the body; our lady must have been enough of a somebody by that time to have been awarded no less than the starring role.

See promotional pieces from this movie in Fabrizio's Post #22.
Too bad today's films shy away from using paintings for publicity,
as the beautiful one you see above.
.

Anita's second film was as an uncredited extra, but the next one from 1968 was the colossal hit, Barbarella (1968). Who did she need to copulate with to get this plum role of a cruel dictator? Was this blonde that much of a marketable entity? Perhaps hanging out with the power crowd made the difference for our 5'9" beauty.

Anita as the "Great Tyrant" in BARBARELLA, with Jane Fonda; her voice was dubbed.
When Keith Richards visited the set, Anita claimed Fonda fell in love with him.

Before her successful screen run from the late sixties sputtered out, she was also in Dillinger Is Dead (1969), appearing as an ill-fated wife. Here's the translation (an imperfect one) and transcription (bear in mind as well the first page has unfortunately gone dead) from the aforementioned Post #21 from Joszka:

Blink-and-you'll-miss-'em breasts from DILLINGER IS DEAD.

We had Michel Piccoli for an actor as remarkable as serious, considering his career with the most serious male, — and here we receive these rather surprising photos from him! Is it possible? Here is Piccoli frolicking with a snake and a pretty girl in bed. he is, in short, the office of the demon, near a very lovely person on the abandoned back and silky breasts.. You will say: all the same, Piccoli did not let the indiscreet camera enter its intimacy? He did not allow the photographer to "cliche" his voluptuous games with this volunteer exhibitionism? What's going on?
Quite simply, the original duo you have in front of you was taken, on an Italian plateau, between two scenes from Marco Ferreri's new film, "Dillinger is Dead", where Piccoli embodies the famous American gangster in the thirties. We see that the emulator of Al Capone did not repel, in room, to even more tasty entertainment than those in which Piccoli is engaged in "Benjamin" with Catherine Deneuve! Unless Ferreri, showing us Capone in 1968, adapted it to the advanced eroticism of our time.

Photos of Anita from this movie have been presented on the thread a good several times, two of which may be
seen on the top of this page, presently Page 4. You may see they are promotional photos, which in the old days
were taken with reproduction in magazines in mind. The film itself has shied away from being too graphic, as to be
observed in these screencaps.

— But, you will ask, who is the beautiful sleeper that he likes to cuddle with this snake-toy? It is Anita Pallenberg, a young German star who is not cold in the eyes. Anita does not hide that she is a Star-Beatnik. She happened to scandalize even the most bohemian artists in Berlin by her cynical responses, during the interviews. Anita professes that there is no shame for a pretty girl to turn naked. "After all," she said, "I didn't go out in an evening dress from my mother's legs."
Michel Piccoli said of Anita on her side:
— She is extraordinary. She is the natural itself. She is really a “new formula” girl, who does not think of money, nor marital love, and upsets all prejudices. As for her charm, it is formidable for men. Because she is as capricious as the toy-serpent with which I have fun, in the Ferreri film, to tease it ... but much more decently than on these documents.
Do not complain that Anita and Michel allowed himself to be photographed in the outskirts: for once, we have the impression of seeing the full version of a film!

Here's Anita in Performance (1970 although, again, shot two years earlier), where she "played the sensual, drug-loving housemate of a washed-up pop star" (Mick Jagger).

Last: Nicely stacked indeed; such made her smoking. Perhaps even a smokestack.

An IMDb "Trivia" item on Anita's page claims that she "co-wrote the screenplay... with Donald Cammell," although on the screen Cammell has been given sole credit. Cammell was also the co-director, and appears to be yet another man Anita got Biblically chummy with. In addition: "She had no intention of playing in the movie. She ended up replacing the original actress at the last minute due to a medical emergency." Yet the 2020 biographical book claims Cammell approached her for the role, which she happily accepted in the hopes the film may propel her to stardom; she even had an abortion (which she later resented), so as not to lose out on the opportunity.

James Fox played the mobster whose sexual
values get put to the test by Mick and Anita,
the latter of whom was quoted as saying,

"He'd be sitting there with the script every
morning, studying it; we'd walk around
smoking joints just to annoy him." Fox's
sense of professionalism was out-of-sync
with the rest.

You may want to read the excerpt from the book, presented in its entirety in the "Quote" box above, or in Post #30; it made for fascinating reading. The other actress from the film is claimed to have been under-aged for one, and there was also the revelation that Rae Dawn Chong had, when aged 15, an affair with Mick Jagger, over twice her age. If true, looks like being Mick Jagger has perks, because it would be difficult for anyone not to face ruin in what can at times be our hypersensitive age.

Finally, let's get to what has spurred this post, Anita's part as a possessive nurse in Candy, whose title role actress is believed to have been seventeen during filming in 1967 (I've discovered she seems to have instead been eighteen, when I prepared my post on her); appropriately, Anita, the "super groupie," played a primary groupie of a celebrity surgeon (James Coburn, pictured in first photo above, along with John Astin, also seen in third photo above; the star of The Addams Family did a great job with his dual role).

Second female lead Elsa Martinelli in first two.

While normally we are on guard when nudity is on screen without the head being connected (a giveaway of body doubles), I think the odds favor Anita would not have had qualms about exposing her own breast. (The initials are those of her beloved surgeon, also tattooed on the other nurses.)

In a 2016 interview, Anita Pallenberg stated (along with interestingly declaring, "I am Italian"; as well: "I liked it better before, when political correctness did not exist") that she never expected to live as long as she had, and added that she was ready to die. When the end came in the following year, she was seventy-five.
