It's odd that it takes forever for the pictures to load on P&H, yet all those shitty adverts load up without a hitch. It's gotten to the point where I won't even click on a picture if it's posted on P&H.

They must have fixed their issues though the pics appear to be fairly small so might be a false dawn

its what pays for the free service...run firefox with no script and their a thing of the past

Poor performance on the other hand is a bridge too far and shows the issue is more than likely bandwidth is being rationed across the board though thats just a wild guess on my behalf
given no one is up in arms on their forums

P&H blazing fast? What planet have you been on Slid3r? Its rubbish, you know it never works properly one day to the next, everyone else knows it, and it has at least 2 popups that appear before it settles down(and before you ask I have a pop-up blocker but it seems to bypass it somehow)-the only decent thing is to scrap our association with it, ban it from here, and use imagevenue or imagebam instead-much better in the long run.

I guess I'll toss in a few thoughts. As you can see, I'm a relative newbie to the forum. When I started to upload I was very nervous about doing so, and the "Quick Reply" box proved to be very easy to use. However, I recently started my first thread, and despite getting 850 views it garnered all of 10 thanks, all in the first two posts (out of about 7 by me). My conclusion was that people were visiting the thread but leaving quickly because of the slow load time by P&H. So upon the advice of a moderator, I switched over the entire thread to ImageVenue. The result was that thanks more than doubled and page views went past 1,400 in very little time.

While I like the feature of P&H that allows you to download and entire album as a zip file (since I mainly post single model sets), the slow load time is simply not worth it. The whole point of this forum is to share, and if the pic never loads, or the thread is too slow, it's the proverbial tree falling in the forest with no one around.

As to the pop-up issue, I use Mozilla Firefox and it is very effective at blocking P&H pop-ups.

In closing, I would also say that the tutorial on how to use ImageVenue needs updating. I had no idea that it had a bulk upload page until I read it elsewhere. The link takes you to the manual upload page, which of course, is very time consuming. Also the tutorial could also have a section on how to post multiple uploads to the same post as IV has a 3mb limit per upload.

not exactly. (for unregistered, free users) IV has a limit of 100 pics per upload and a limit of 3MB per image.

indeed. it was written years ago and still it's all based on the aged uploader where you have to select each image separately. uneconomic and useless since it has the flashuploader. guide will be updated soon, you have my word.

The last couple of days I've been seeing a lot of Pimpandhost pics that come up as the same size as the thumbnails. At first I figured it was just new members that hadn't learned how to post, but now I'm noticing it from more experience posters. I don't know if it's a glitch or not.

Ah, I see. Just read the message from Pimpandhost. Well, that essentially makes that host worthless until the upgrade, I'd say. I don't use them myself anyway, but others might want to avoid them for a while.

Anybody at staff board being able to explain why the second image has correct (posted) sizes at VEF as well as PH (right click on image) while the first one is resized to thumbnails at both VEF and PH Original? Clicking Medium at PH window the image is correctly displayed medium size. Editing these images at PH shows both are still stored original large size.
