Note that alot of the shots at this point are either exact dupes of American U.S. POTY/POTM shots or just slight changes in the pose (head angle, arm or leg position, etc.). Because a few people wondered about Ginger's formal announcement as POTY as well as the timeline for other POTY's: she was FORMALLY declared as such on Monday December 5th, 1988....she had already done some TV stuff a few days earlier which mentioned she was POTY and it would be announced that Monday. It's possible that the magazine was already on the stands (remember, it was the January 1989 issue) or maybe it was scheduled to hit that Monday (Monday being the day when most weekly/monthly magazines hit newsstands).

Anyway, the January 1989 issue coming out a month early seems about right. And having a few TV appearances the week before the magazine came out would seem about right to stoke the interest.

So first Monday of December seems to be the magic date (or used to, anyway).

More Ginger from the UK edition of Penthouse....Penthouse was originally a British publication and Guccione lived there, so the UK editions always got a few 'extras' from layouts that even the U.S. editions didn't have access to. The black leather shots may have been available on the website from that 'Guccione's Vault' promo years ago, I'm not sure. Anyway, the outfit Ginger wears here is totally different from other layouts -- note the hat, same as she wore a few years earlier when she filmed "Best Chest In the U.S." It's the same outfit as on the French Penthouse cover -- but that magazine did NOT have these photos. Pics 6-8 are POTM shots and the last shot was a UK edition shot but is a dupe of the HK edition (or vice-versa).

Ginger Miller US POTY pics....I really like the shot of her (pic #11) where it's a frontal shot with her eyes shut...she has GORGEOUS eyes and like most women looks more beautiful when they are shut and her head thrown back. Also some micro shots are included, enlarged.

Some miscellaneous Ginger shots: An ERI ad from Penthouse (ERI produced the California Girl Bikini and Wild Bikini videos; Ginger worked for them for a while); insert and cover pic from PENTHOUSE LETTERS, Spanish Penthouse March 1987 cover (same as U.S. Nov 1986), and the announcement of the 1990 POTY contest featuring a pic of Miss Ginger. Funny...the 1990 POTY contest shot they used one of her POTM shots, not a POTY pic.

BTW, Ginger's picture appears above #12 in the ERI video ad even though she actually appears in videos #3 and #5 only.

Voilla !! Robin Byrd Show screenshots: I wish I had the actual video, but a friend of a friend of a friend of someone at a beach house had tons of (digital ?) photos of THE ROBIN BYRD SHOW including these of Ginger Miller. Good thing there's a screenshot of her Penthouse glossy and the magazine or I'm not sure I would have recognized her from the stills. She looks different than the other pics we've seen although this show was from late 1993-early 1994 and all the other photos are from 1986-89.

Unfortunately, I don't have the video of the show; there are usually 5-6 strippers per show. The girls routines last 3-5 minutes; some are 100% naked from the beginning, others end up topless or naked but only at the end of their routines, and some don't even go topless but just do a strip routine and tantalize (which is what Ginger apparently did). There's also a Q&A at the end which also would have been great to see/hear if I had the complete episode on tape.

I love those red boots she wore. While I'm sure Penthouse/General Media supplied some of the more expensive items like jewelry, I see that Ginger herself used some of her personal items that she made -- including those from that boutique she once owned/operated -- in the POTY pictorial. Blue denim jacket, black hat and body outfit, black bra ("Gellorama") come to mind.

I wonder if other girls who were POTY used their own clothing in their layouts ??

BTW, I believe Ginger's POTY layout was shot at Bob and Kathy Keeton's upstate NY summer house in Dutchess County. Other POTY/POTM layouts might have used that same place or the Manhattan mansion or a West Coast/LA home/Pacific beach house that Guccione/Penthouse owned or had access to.

But wait. Something's wrong. Who in the name of family values are those scantily clad people in the doorway?

Another sign on another part of the building provided the answer: "World Famous Big Al's presents Ginger Miller, Penthouse Pet of the Year."

I take it Big Al's is pretty big in Peoria, appears to still be in business. It says it's full nudity but I would guess some dancers including feature dancers set their own terms. I know Ginger preferred bikini-only clubs rather than topless joints, let alone full-nudity. Guess it depended on how much they paid and her comfort level.
