Default Great old porn sites that are gone.

I already miss the days when the net was new. There were awesome posters that would load up all of their collections. It was just average joes posting the pics.

I remember cool places like one called superman where you could pay a fee and go through a hundred thousand JPEGS.

I wish I had some of those early pictues. Alas they are gone with so many fried hard drives.

I'm thankfull for this great landing pad for pictures!

Anyone have any long lost favorites from around 1995 or so?

None in particular, but a few years ago I read about someone who was trying to preserve early web sites before they disappeared. Not porn (I don't think), but perhaps I'm wrong.
The trouble with historic things is that they're often gone before anyone cares.

Default Better Today

Actually I think things are better today. Faster internet connections, larger images. Better scanners. Not that I don't appreciate the nostalgic feelings of yesteryear's.

I'd doubt any exist as an on going commercial operation given they were made for 56k dial-up and below speeds - hardly going to be competing well with those made for broadband.

The one site which has crawled the net
- The waybackmachine started in 1996

If you know the websites address I'm sure a few sites
started pre-1996 would be in their vault unless their using a different format
like the gif site below

http://archive.org/about/about.php

Bob Thomas ran AMATEUR ACTION BBS in San Jose, Calif.,
which specialized in adult gif files (1992)

Amateur Action (408-263-3393) specialized in adult gif files (over
4,600) using amateur rather than commercial models.

Once upon a time, I remember jordanlee.com being a pretty good site for it's time, back in the mid-90s.

Most of what I posted in the vintage areas came from giffer
Most I havent a clue it exists until someone thanks it again

Girls,primates & cars - a one off

But like quite a few sites now cant be revisited

jordanlee .com blocked by robots....only hope is its listed on a tgp site and theres a way in that isnt blocked...happens occasionally but it takes ages to find your way in

Great stuff. Maybe there are more back door sites out there that contain archive material!

Your best bet is to search by using the old 8 character file names. You can find a lot of stuff that way and the web archive is excellent but requires URLs, you can't use search terms. They were working on having text searching but that project for the wayback machine has been defunct for years. For example, try this as a search term:

I recall Snails Archive one. It was tough using those codes to get pictures. I felt like Indiana Jones looking for treasure there.

The present time is better for downloads of course, but I think the copyright aspects keep some sets locked up. For instance... you could get photographers sets from the vintage magazines from the eighties and such. I mean... they were like there!
