Default Dancer (Ziegfield's Follies): Lillian Lorraine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillian_Lorraine

Lillian Lorraine was one of the great beauties of the Broadway stage in the years before World War I, popularizing Irving Berlin's classic song "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" (1909) and introducing the famous ditty "Row, Row, Row". However, she won greater notoriety for her scandalous personal life.

Her career received a considerable boost in 1909 when theatrical producer Florenz Ziegfeld singled her out from the chorus line of his show "Miss Innoncence"; he made her his mistress and began grooming her for stardom (amongst other things). Their affair led to the breakup of Ziegfeld's marriage to Broadway legend Anna Held.

Offstage she was known for her mercurial personality, heavy drinking, and gift for getting into trouble. In 1912 alone she had an affair with a chauffeur who stole her jewelry. She was briefly married to a bigamist (see what I mean, a girl could hardly move for them in those days) who also assaulted Ziegfeld in public.

She was then the intended target of a blackmail scheme that resulted in a fatal shooting. She was also said to have had shadowy connections to the mob figure Arnold Rothstein.

By 1914 Lorraine's relationship with Ziegfeld had cooled, though he continued to support her and cast her in two more shows. In the meantime she tried her luck in vaudeville and also appeared in ten Hollywood films, among them 'Should a Wife Forgive?' (1915), and 'Lonesome Corners' (1922).

In 1921 Lorraine injured her spine in a fall outside a nightclub, and her fame rapidly declined. She died poor and forgotten, and was originally buried in an unmarked pauper's grave at Calvary Cemetery. Show business friends later arranged to have her reinterred with dignity in her last husband's plot at St. Raymond's Cemetery in The Bronx.

Default Ex Actress: Rielle Hunter

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rielle_Hunter

Rielle Hunter is an american former actress and film producer. She is known for having had an affair with and conceiving a child with former Democratic Party vice-presidential nominee John Edwards. The affair was started whilst Edwards wife underwent cancer treatment.

During the 1980s and 1990s, as Lisa Hunter and Lisa Jo Hunter, she appeared in the films Overboard (1987), in which she portrayed one of the mistresses to Edward Hermann's character, and Ricochet (1991) in which she portrayed a reporter.

After much public speculation, on January 21, 2010, John Edwards finally admitted publicly that he was, indeed, the father of Hunter's daughter Quinn, and his wife is supposedly divorcing him.

Default Silent Star: Marie Prevost

Marie Prevost (Born Mary Bickford Dunn), was a Canadian-born actress of the early days of cinema. Her career started easily enough .... she was working as a secretary, when she simply applied for an acting job at the Mack Sennett studio. Sennett, who was also a Canadian, dubbed her as the exotic "French girl", and added her Dunn to his collection of bathing beauties under the stage name of 'Marie Prevost'. And Her career took off to the extent that during her twenty year career, she made 121 silent and talking pictures.

Her first brush with the darker side of fame was in 1919 when she married married socialite Sonny Gerke. The alarm bells should have really been ringing when Mr Gerke told her the marriage had to be kept a 'secret' .... this was allegedly because Gerke's mother had supposedly forbidden him to associate with Prevost because she was an actress. Nevertheless she went ahead and married in haste, only to repent in leisure when after a mere six months he abandoned her. He refused to divorce her, as that would have exposed the marriage to the world (and his mother), so she remained married to the little twerp until 1923 .... a decision she would later regret.

Meanwhile her career rumbled on, ironically her first success was in 1920 with the romantic film 'Love, Honor, and Behave', and in 1921 she signed with Universal. Here, they decided to push her for 'Stardom' and ensured that she received a great deal of publicity via numerous publicity events. One of these was when Universal sent Prevost to Coney Island where she publicly burned her bathing suit to symbolize the end of her bathing beauty days .... it would probably have included her bra but they hadn't been invented yet

The push for stardom failed and she was quickly relegated to light comedies for the remainder of her contract .... Warner Bros. signed her to a two year contract at $1500 a week in 1922 ... her she was paired with future husband Kenneth Harlan (after she got that divorce). Their affair started merely as a publicity stunt for the movie 'The Beautiful and Damned' when to publicize the film, Warner announced that the couple would 'marry on the film's set' .... thousands of fans sent gifts and letters to the couple.

However a newspaper found out that Prevost was still married and ran the headline "Marie Prevost Will be a Bigamist if She Marries Kenneth Harlan".... oops! Jack Warner was furious with Prevost for not telling him she was still married, but quickly got her marriage annulled and now, rather committed by the events, Prevost married Harlan secretly, well quietly .... she was his second wife ... she wasn't to be his last, he married a further six times before death stopped him

The movie did pretty well, and her career didn't suffer as a result of the scandal ... the only cloud on her horizon was when her mother died in a car accident. However the consequences of this were far reaching .... she was deeply affected by this loss and started drinking heavily, and developed an addiction to alcohol.

She then met Howard Hughes who cast her as the lead in 'The Racket' in 1928, and during filming, Hughes and Prevost had a brief affair. Hughes quickly broke off the affair after the film was completed, leaving Prevost heartbroken and furthering her depression, and drinking. Unfortunately, she combined this new drinking binge, with food as well, and her previously girlish figure and looks, quickly ballooned into something more porcine. Consequently by the 1930's, she was working less and then only in secondary parts.

She had one last chance to reverse her fortunes in 'Paid' in 1930, a role which, while secondary to star Joan Crawford, still garnered her good reviews .... but her financial income declined again and her growing dependency on alcohol added to her weight problems, which killed off hopes of a major comeback. By the mid 1930's she had no regular work, and the repeated crash dieting in order to keep the bit parts she was occasionally given, signalled the end of her career.

She died of a combination of alcoholism and dieting in 1937 (Several empty whiskey bottles were found nearby . . ." Marie Prevost has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard.

Default Model: Lara Bingle

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lara_Bingle
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t92...ra-bingle.html

One for the cricket fans here ..... never thought I would say that on this site anyway, Lara Bingle is an Australian model who was engaged to Cricketer and Aussie vice captain Michael Clarke.

She had a career rolling along nicely, however things started to go awry when she was accused of sleeping with a married man (Famous? Aussie footballer Brendan Fevola), and was reported as being the cause of the divorce proceedings starting. Ms Bingle denied knowing he was married (although obviously not the fact that she had been sleeping with him) but witnesses said that she had been told he was married before their affair.

It was about this time that topless pictures of her started to circulate on the web, and Ms bingle grew a little litigious, but her case fell apart when it was alleged that she and her agent Max Markson had sold her story relating to this nude photo, to the same magazine which had published the controversial photo, for nearly A$200,000.

Who would have thought that a topless picture would be shocking in Australia? anyway the picture is now freely available on websites around the world (and maybe that's the point, publicity eh?)

On 12 March 2010 Bingle and Clarke's agent released a statement stating that Bingle and Clarke had split up due to irreconcilable differences ending their three year relationship.

Her future career course is unknown, but she is a good looking gal so I expect that she will rise again. As her existing thread is apparently broken and abandoned (all the links are broken, and for some reason the poster has left the html showing?), I am posting a small number of pictures here.

Update: She has had further misadventures which are catalogued here.

Default TV reporter: Mirthala Salinas

Mirthala Salinas TV reporter with TeleMundo was until she was named as having an affair with married politician and L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who was forced to put out a statement before the press printed the story.

It is true that I have a relationship with Ms. Mirthala Salinas. As I’ve said I take full responsibility for my actions, and I once again ask that people respect my family’s privacy. For my part, I intend to stay focused on my job, and to work as hard as I can every day to be the best mayor I can be.” ..... Ms Salinas was left unemployed after telemundo issued a statement issued in 2007, the station said “we have mutually agreed to end our employment relationship.” She had been suspended over the affair and apparently forgot to show up for work after it was over.

The Mayor and his wife Corina separated, and divorce papers were filed, Ms Salinas has since apologised and called 'the affair' a "learning experience" -- and had no idea it would have such great consequences..... so thats alright then.

Default TV Reporter: Sawsan Safa Darwish

Sawsan Safa Darwish, a reporter at the Lebanese National Broadcasting Network (NBN) was sacked from her post over comments she made about the assassination of a local MP, Walid Eido.

She failed to notice that her microphone was on as she gave what was described as “harsh opinions” during the channel's Thursday night coverage of the assassination.

The silly reporter was heard saying: "What took them so long [to kill him]?

"We don't gloat at someone else's misfortune," her colleague replied.

"We are not," the anchor replied, "but we've had enough of them. Only Fatfat [A reference to anti-Syrian Lebanese Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Fatfat] is left".

A bit like Gordon Brown and the "bigoted" microphone slip, these things always get caught.

Default Socialite: Clara Ward, Princesse de Caraman-Chimay

Clara Ward, who commonly used one or another version of the title "Princesse de Caraman-Chimay", is forgotten today, but for some years in the early 1890's she was the toast of the United States. After that it all went wrong.

In 1890 as a wealthy socialite she married Marie Joseph Anatole Pierre Alphonse de Riquet, Prince de Caraman-Chimay, a poor member of the Belgian Chamber of Deputies .... all went well for two kids worth of marriage, but then came the gypsy violinist, Hungarian, Rigó Jancsi, who eked out a living providing restaurant music.

Ward and Rigó eloped in December 1896. and a US paper, the Ludington Record carried a news service dispatch about the elopement with a woodcut illustration of Ward and the headline, "Gone With a Gypsy" .... at least it wasn't 'Gone for a Gypsies'.

The Prince and Princesse de Caraman-Chimay were divorced on January 19, 1897 and she then married the gypsy in Egypt.

With money now a problem she took to posing on stage in a flesh coloured leotard at such venues as the Folies Bergère and probably also the Moulin Rouge. Divorce soon followed, after the gypsy was unfaithful and marraige number three was an Italian waiter named Peppino Ricciardo.

Quite soon she divorced him and married Signore Cassalota, an Italian railway station manager. She is not remembered now, but at the time (and considering some of the opposition of the time listed on this thread, this is no mean feat), her exploits both fascinated and scandalised edwardian society (especially in the US).

Default CBS REPORTER: Lara Logan

Lara Logan the CBS Iraq reporter. The New York Post reported that “Sexy CBS siren Lara Logan spent her days covering the heat of the Iraq war – but that was nothing compared to the heat of her nights. The “60 Minutes” reporter and former swimsuit model apparently courted two beaus while she was in Baghdad, and has been labeled a homewrecker for allegedly destroying the marriage of a civilian contractor there, sources said. Passions got so hot in the combat zone that one of her lovers, Joe Burkett, brawled in a Baghdad “safe house” with her other paramour, CNN war reporter Michael Ware, a source said. The wife of Burkett, a US Embassy worker, claims the sultry 37-year-old correspondent seduced him while bullets flew overhead.”

She later married the federal defense contractor from Texas after their respective divorces came through.

Default Country Girl: LeAnn Rimes

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t81...ann-rimes.html

LeAnn Rimes is a an American singer-songwriter and actress, best known for her work in country music with a number of albums, but I had never heard of her, which means that she qualifies for this thread, because she is what used to be known in simpler times as a "home wrecker!"

LeAnn Rimes was married to former backing dancer Dean Sheremet but she was busted after having a well publicized affair with her Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian when 'US Weekly' snapped photos of them kissing in a restaurant. Cibrian, the father of two small children, left his wife for Rimes and filed for divorce in August 2009 after eight years of marriage, and they've since gone public with their affair.

Rimes filed a lawsuit against her father, claiming that he and a former manager took over seven million dollars from her in the preceding five years..... once this was settled, in true country style, they were reconciled in time for her wedding .....

Default Fanny Brice: Show Biz Entertainer

Fanny Brice was a popular American illustrated song "model," comedienne, singer, theatre and film actress, who made many stage, radio and film appearances, including Ziegfields follies in the early part of the last century.

She was the "funny girl" that Streisand played!

However this didn't stop her having an 'interesting' love life that entertained as much as her shows ....

First came a marriage of a mere three days to a local barber, Frank White .... she bought suit for divorce herself, to get out of this one.

Her second husband was professional gambler Julius W. "Nicky" Arnstein. He was an out and out criminal, but this seemed to just add to the attraction, so when, even before they married, he got 14 months in Sing Sing for wiretapping, she visited him every week.

When he came out of prison, Arnstein shamelessly lived off Brice's earnings while they lived together for six years, before their eventual marriage in 1918. In 1924, Arnstein was charged in the theft of $5 million of Wall Street securities. He then went on the run (all this while Fanny was a broadway star), and when he finally surrendered, he fought the charges for four years, and bankrupted Fanny's finances before he was convicted and sentenced to the Federal penitentiary at Leavenworth where he served three years. Released in 1927, Arnstein just walked out from Brice's life and that of his two children. Somewhat reluctantly, Brice divorced him but she appears to have wished she hadn't (think Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil).

She went on to marry songwriter and stage producer Billy Rose and appeared in his revue Crazy Quilt, among others. That marriage also failed.
