Christine Starr
Thanks to johnbear we have been able see Bunny Yeager's color and b&w slides of the lovely Christine Starr. Christine modeled for Yeager in the 1960s. (Unknown whether she modeled for other photographers.) According to one auction site Christine's real name is Anna Villar. It's overdue for Christine to have her own thread on VEF, so I'm starting this one.
Yeager, for reasons that are not clear, often had her models don wigs. For example, she took many shots of Uschi wearing a blonde wig. The same is true for Christine; many of her photos show her with a huge wig. Some of those photos work, but not all. (The second photo below was originally posted by johnbear. AFAICR I pulled the others off the www. Not sure if the rules allow me to quote his photos posted in the two slides threads in this thread.) Women of the Sun: Bunny Yeager in Mexico
"Women of the Sun: Bunny Yeager in Mexico" edited by Nico B (2020)
Circa 1965 Yeager got permission to take photographs at Chichén Itzá and other temples in Mexico. While there Yeager was able to surreptitiously photograph nude models by the outdoor temples, something that was surely not allowed. Christine Starr accompanied Yeager and was the subject of many of those images, some of which have been posted here on VEF by johnbear. In 1967 Yeager published "Bunny Yeager’s Camera in Mexico," which featured architectural photography, street photography and a few nudes. Yet she had many additional photos of nude models and one of her last wishes before her death in 2014 to have her images from Mexico turned into a book. I do not own the book, but admit to being tempted to buy it. More info about Yeager and this book is available at the Grapefruit Gallery website and Inside Hook's online article about Yeager.
