Okay I need to know, what is the secret to scanning a large calendar? Do you split the pictures and then stich them together or use some other method? Perhaps you can let me and others know.

o.k. I make you and everyone who has one of this very rare starbird calendars the following offer: You make 4 overlapping scans from each of the 12 pages of the calendar, then you send me them zipped to my e-mail adress. I will set them together with the photomerger function in photoshop, afterwards it looks perfect, like from one piece, no shadows, no lines, perfectly positioned (also from the angles) and egalized in the colors by the program (if you have seen once one of these panorama photos set together from six, seven pieces, afterwards it looks like one shot).
Scans should be with 150 dpi, A4 formated, if you have A3 even better. And very important: you must press the calendar with all your fingers of both hands in all 4 directions to the glass of the scaner while scaning, so there is no space between the calendar and the glass . (otherwise, because the border of the scaner is higher than the glass and the calendar is biger than the scaner, there is about 1 to 2 millimeter between the calendar and the glass if you don’t press; this causes the scan to be unsharp and dark with shadows, that can’t be solved by photoshop).
The overlapping of the 4 pieces should be at least 1 centimeter, so better losing a bit from the border, but having enough material in the middle of the calendar!
I’ll post the result here! And be aware, one calendar costs me at least one hour of work!

p.s. what you saw so far about scaned calendars by me, was not done with this perfect, but timeconsuming method!

Like hoyya said Greenman - it's doable - but time consuming.

I use Paint Shop Pro 7 to edit my images (a poor mans Photoshop).

As you can see from the image size these are not from original calanders -
I only wish I'd kept mine.

I am quite happy to share the workload with hoyya but I do have limited computer time.
