Thumbs up Mary Wilcox

Mary Wilcox was a reeeeeeelly tall blonde in TV and movies of the late 60s and 70s.

(She's not to be confused with the Canadian actress Mary Charlotte Wilcox from SCTV and Maniac Mansion -- IMDb mixes up their credits)

If you've seen the 1970 movie The Lawyer, then you saw Mary's very impressive rack as the girl who gets murdered.

Mary also played the "stewardess" Mary Beth Jane Sue in the 1976 disaster movie spoof The Big Bus.

She's probably best remembered for acting in some sicko horror movies of the early 70s, Beast Of The Yellow Night and the necrophiliac "classic" Love Me Deadly, from which the following pics are taken:

Sorry for the few pics but Mary's hard to find online.

Mary Wilcox apparently did a nude pictorial in the October '74 bunny mag. Would anybody have it?

Default Mary Wilcox

There are a few isolated posts abour her floating on VEF, but no dedicated thread. Her IMDb page.
Born: October 29, 1947 in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada

She (if it is indeed the same person) posed for the mag with the vermin logo.

Carnival March 1971

Default A few to start thread

Note of caution with this one .... there was, according to some sites, apparently both a 'Mary Wilcox' and 'Mary Charlotte Wilcox' about the same time. There is some debate as to whether or not they are in fact truly one and the same person (as IMDB thinks). According to some sites, one did a Pl*yB*y shoot in 1974 , whereas the other didn't and became a lady pastor (if they are in fact different people).

I freely admit that I will leave it to the thread founder to differentiate the pictures if this is true as I can't find two pictures which clearly show her as two people.

A mixed bag, including a clean up of the joins on the first posting.

Very kind to defer to my expertise. Thing is: I hadn't heard of her either until I scanned the stuff above a few days ago.

IMDb actually lists two Mary Wilcox, but whether these are really two (or fewer, or more) and whether they allocated the individual credits right is hard to tell. In particular, the films Marlowe and Flareup mentioned by Carnival are listed at IMDb as belonging to Mary Wilcox whilst the Playboy pictorial is registered there with Mary Charlotte Wilcox. So, IMDb thinks the two are different. This may or may not be true.

The identification of the two in my first post was a bit cavalier, i.e. I thought, same period, same name, same person and hadn't checked the finer details.

So for now, let's just keep a sense of caution that these associations are not completely settled.

Article in the German mag Sexy, from 1971.

...and to add to my previous analysis regarding the WILCOX IDENTITY: the Carnival article listed a third film with her, called The Lawyer, and the IMDb associates that with Mary Charlotte Wilcox. If the Carnival article is correct then either the IMDb allocated that film to the wrong woman, or the two are the same anyway.

The PB-Pictorial from Ocotber 1974 says the following:

..."Starting as a ballerina in Indianapolis at the age of four, she eventually abandoned professional ballet for the screen (...) and has played miner roles in MARLOWE, LOVE ME DEADLY, WILLIE DYNAMITE and the aforementioned LEPKE, starring Curtis."...

MARLOWE is in Imdb associated with Mary Wilcox, the other three with Mary Charlotte Wilcox.

Seems it is really the same person. BTW Indianapolis isn't too far from St. Thomas, ON, according to Imdb the birthplace of Mary Charlotte Wilcox. Maybe her parents moved there when she was young.

Cult actress Mary Wilcox promoting her film role in the 1975 Tony Curtis film, “Lepke”, in a 1974 Playboy pictorial which was properly entitled, “Lepke’s Lady”.
